Aaron Siskind Foundation Individual Photographer’s Fellowship Application Deadline May 30

One of the Few Remaining Photography Grants: Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship Grant

Deadline: May 30.

It’s that time once again: applying to the Aaron Siskind Foundation Individual Photographer’s Fellowship.

With more than 1,100 entries, it’s also one of the most competitive grants for photographers. The process is easy though, which is probably why so many apply, since it only requires a brief Artist’s Statement, a brief Bio or CV/Resume–both no more than 500 words–and ten images (the process is once of the most painless).

As with most awards, the judging panels rotate each year, and thus, so does the slant of winning work, which can range from documentary to narrative to slightly commercially oriented. Recent judges have included photographers Thomas Roma (an old teacher of mine), Elinor Carucci, Andrew Moore, as well as curators such as Tim Wride, from the Norton Museum of Art.

The deadline is usually May 30 of each year.

Here’s a recent photo that I’ve submitted and have been working on color correcting and retouching, which is from a residency at Ucross in Wyoming.
