Feeling Light on My Face: Self Portrait in the Afternoon

The light was coming in just right–I could feel it.

I often would compose photographs by literally sensing when the sun’s warmth is on my face, neck, or body. This is a slightly odd way of generating a photograph–by not seeing it.
