I’m excited to see this show, as reviewed in the New York Times this Friday at Tibor de Nagy Gallery. I originally saw his work and met him (many!) years ago as a visiting artist while a graduate student at Yale University. His intricate, oddly obsessive photography collages were touching, disturbing, and old fashioned, full of classical references mixed with nude figures in classical poses (some of him). No Photoshop here, as he carefully culled images that he would cut together seamlessly by hand resulting in images that are dreamlike.
