They have a curious approach: Monegraph is a mix between an online agent and an editioned photo print portfolio. Here, unlike other sites selling art work and photographs online, the emphasis is on digital editions of images–not actual prints–which is an interesting approach. Once you have an electronic copy, you can use it in the real world (print it, include it in a web site, etc.), or even it sell it again on the site. Everything stays on the online realm, and individual images are tracked; editions can range from a few or dozens or maybe a hundred.
As more art and photos claim a stake online, perhaps this is the way of the future?
