Considering his inclusion in a recent Whitney Biennial, numerous solo exhibtions and publications, its odd to see Roe Ethridge in the “New Photographers” series at MoMA. Still, I admire his range of work that defies pigeon holing: still life, to “model” shots, to pulp/pop images of cheap newspaper insert adverts (at the ICA Philadelphia show), its hard to categorize, which is what I like.
